The treatment is based on a diagrammatic expansion that merges the usual Feynman diagrams with the angular momentum diagrams known from atomic and nuclear structure theory, thereby incorporating the non-Abelian algebra inherent to quantum rotations. Our approach is applicable at arbitrary coupling, is free of systematic errors and of finite-size effects, and naturally provides access to the impurity Green function. We exemplify the technique by obtaining an all-coupling solution of the angulon model; however, the method is quite general and can be applied to a broad variety of systems in which particles exchange quantum angular momentum with their many-body environment."}],"publisher":"American Physical Society","issue":"16","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"related_material":{"link":[{"description":"News on IST Homepage","url":"https://ist.ac.at/en/news/description-of-rotating-molecules-made-easy/","relation":"press_release"}]},"article_processing_charge":"No","user_id":"2DF688A6-F248-11E8-B48F-1D18A9856A87","title":"Diagrammatic Monte Carlo approach to angular momentum in quantum many-particle systems","_id":"6339","department":[{"_id":"MiLe"}],"date_created":"2019-04-17T10:53:38Z","volume":121,"date_updated":"2024-02-28T13:15:09Z","month":"10","year":"2018","article_number":"165301","type":"journal_article","author":[{"full_name":"Bighin, Giacomo","last_name":"Bighin","first_name":"Giacomo","id":"4CA96FD4-F248-11E8-B48F-1D18A9856A87","orcid":"0000-0001-8823-9777"},{"last_name":"Tscherbul","full_name":"Tscherbul, Timur","first_name":"Timur"},{"orcid":"0000-0002-6990-7802","last_name":"Lemeshko","full_name":"Lemeshko, Mikhail","id":"37CB05FA-F248-11E8-B48F-1D18A9856A87","first_name":"Mikhail"}],"isi":1,"oa":1,"oa_version":"Preprint","publication_status":"published","intvolume":" 121"}
