In analogy to the untimed case, the underlying classical theory of timed state sequences is identified, it is shown to be nonelementarily decidable, and its complexity and expressiveness are used as a point of reference. Two orthogonal extensions of PTL (timed propositional temporal logic and metric temporal logic) that inherit its appeal are defined: they capture elementary, yet expressively complete, fragments of the theory of timed state sequences, and thus are excellent candidates for practical real-time specification languages","lang":"eng"}],"article_processing_charge":"No","extern":"1","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"user_id":"ea97e931-d5af-11eb-85d4-e6957dddbf17","doi":"10.1109/LICS.1990.113764","scopus_import":"1","oa_version":"None","conference":{"location":"Philadelphia, PA, USA","name":"LICS: Logic in Computer Science","end_date":"1990-06-07","start_date":"1990-06-04"},"publication_status":"published","citation":{"ieee":"R.
